π± Meet Your Hosts
Claire Gerard spent her professional life teaching in Montessori schools and her weekends marveling at the quiet miracles in her vegetable plot. After retiring, she earned her Master Gardener certification in 2014 and has been sharing her love for food gardening and California natives ever since. She finds joy in tending the CA native plot at Venice High and treasures the community of gardeners sheβs met along the way.
Joy Tucker is a Los Angeles native, UCLA alum, and lifelong gardener who became a Master Gardener in 2017. Joy has led workshops on everything from vegetable and container gardening to native plants, served as a docent for the Theodore Payne Foundation Native Plant Tour, and volunteered at the Huntington Gardens. She now helps cultivate the California Native section of The Learning Garden.
